The Pittman Wash Trail - Index
>> Friday, August 28, 2009
The Photos in this series were inspired by the Henderson Trails Photo Contest that was advertised in our free weekly newspaper. Being that the Players Club where we live is bordered on one side by the Pittman Wash Trail, which is probably one of the most beautiful and extensive trails in the system, I decided to venture out and take some pictures to see what I could come up with. Even though we have now lived here for over 6 years, this is the first time I have never walked the “wash” trail. I must admit that I was amazed by several things. One, being how many people use the trail; there are hundreds of people each day who use it for walking their dogs, jogging, and biking. Secondly, I was amazed by how well the wash is maintained by the city, and lastly, I was surprised by the beauty that lied within its boundaries. |
The map below shows the entire 4 mile path of the Pittman Wash Trail. As you can see we live just about in the middle of it. |
This shows an areal view of about a 1 mile section of the above map. As you can see, our apartment complex runs along side of the “wash” for more than a quarter of a mile. |
